1) Don’t use hot water to wash your hair
A hot shower will make you feel fresh and relaxed, but washing your hair with hot water will make you go bald. Hot water dehydrates strands and makes your hair dry. Dry hair is brittle hair, brittle hair is prone to falling out.
Your body naturally creates protective oils to keep your hair moisturised and healthy. The heat from the hot water makes the pores of your scalp produce too much of it, which damages the roots and causes hair loss.
Same goes for anything else that exposes your hair to heat, like hair dryer and exposure to harsh sunlight.
So keep your hair cold and healthy.
2) Avoid using too much hair product
You use hair gel or wax and mold them artfully to make latest style, but it’s always a good idea to use them in moderation. Sure, you want your hair to look great, but don’t get carried away.
With time the build up will make your hair weighed down which won’t look good.
How much is the right amount of hair product? Rule of thumb, if you think you’re using too much product, you probably are.
3) Get a haircut regularly
Hair grow at the rate of half an inch per month. Long hair won’t hair loss, but if you don’t take proper care of those hair, problems will follow. 4) Don’t wash them too often
Do you wash your hair everyday? That’s bad. Wash your hair two to three times a week. Any more than that and you wash away the the natural protective oils that keep the hair healthy. Your hair will also lose the natural shine.
But there are exceptions of course. Say you’re an athlete who’s drenched in sweat by the time you hit the shower everyday. You’ll need to clean your hair. Not cleaning will do more damage in this case.
5) Wash them more often
For those of you who wash your hair less than three times a week, you need to do it more. All the dirt that accumulates on the scalp and the dandruff that forms must be regularly cleaned. Use good quality shampoo.
6) Reduce Stress
You probably know that stress causes hair loss. Stress is not great for your health either, so try to reduce stressing yourself too often. Being said that, I know it’s easier said than done, but it can be done. You’ll need to put in some efforts. Try Yoga, mindfulness meditation, make visual pro and cons lists. Those will help you make decisions easier. Avoid people who make you feel worse about yourself. Even friends who constantly criticize you. Those people are more harmful to your health than bad diet and lack of exercise, so avoid them. Be around optimistic people who encourage you.
7) Eat healthy food
Unhealthy food will not just make you fat, it’ll also ruin your health. By eating healthy food I mean you food which provides you with the nutrients your body needs.
Make sure you get all the vitamins that you need.
Hair is made up of protein, your muscles are made up of protein, so you need to consume enough protein for your body to function properly. For it to heal when you get injured, and for it to make hair. Consume at least 70 Gm of protein every day.
